As a lawyer, I need to be able to overlook my own opinions about problems in today’s society to be a more dynamic lawyer. I have recently discussed the case or abortion in our country and argued the opposite of what I believed. I argued that abortion is an unconstitutional practice because it violates the right to life. I planned to overlook my own opinion with other major social issues that can potentially go to trial. The next issue that I have controversial ideas about is a sexual orientation. I believe that people can be with who they want because it does not negatively impact our society or economy. As a lawyer, it would be difficult to argue against the LBGT community but I would need to learn how because a dynamic lawyer can argue two sides of the same case. Another controversial issue is drug laws. I believe that the legalization of some drugs should occur but I also need to know why they should not occur which is more difficult than it sounds because it forces you to critically break down your own argument and then turn it on yourself. The lawyers who have the skill of ignorance usually end up being the most successful.
